I had a conversation with a Verizon employee recently who told me that Verizon was one of the first companies that Apple contacted to contract with to launch the iPhone. He proceeded to tell me that Verizon, get this, turned Apple down! What?! Seriously!? So, naturally, I was a bit skeptical of this until I read this article today.
In this article in Engadget, Verizon Communications' chairman and chief executive, Ivan Seidenberg states, "that the iPhone wouldn't become a mass-market handset". Maybe I am missing some info and I am sure that I don't think that I am an expert in the cell phone field, but hasn't the iPhone been pretty hot for pretty much ever since it came out?
I am still hoping to figure out a way to get my iPhone... some how. If you have suggestions... I'm all ears.

Hmmm, let's see how the shareholders feel about his decision.
I looked at the plan though... kinda pricey
i heard about this too. steve and i are disappointed. i was ready to get an iphone and now the only way to get one is to switch carriers...
if you switch carriers give all of us a heads up so we can all make the switch together! lol but i do agree with your dad, the bill for the iphone will be pricey.
